Favourite Lip Care Products

Hi!
So we all know how terrible it is having dry, chapped, flaky lips. It is a common problem and can be very annoying (especially when wearing matte lipstick!). Here is a round up of my most used and loved lip care products that help me fight this terrible crime as well as keep my lips healthy on a daily basis:

NIVEA

It is my mission to own every single Nivea lip product that will ever exist, they are just that good and I know they will not disappoint! I will do a full post dedicated only to Nivea lip products in the near future since there are so many, however for the time being these particular Nivea lip products stand out the most:

Nivea Sun SPF 30 - As I mentioned in my July 2015 favourites, this product is essential for my lips in the summer. We are always (or at least should be) protecting our skin from potentially harmful sun rays when we are in contact with the sun for a long time. Our lips are just as, if not more, sensitive to sun rays as our skin, which is what this SPF 30 balm is for. It is waterproof which makes it an excellent choice for pool/beach days and it wears without drying the lips. It does leave a sheer white cast on the lips, which is why I often wear it as a base under a lipstick so that I can look great while staying protected.

Nivea A Kiss of Care & Colour - This is my go-to product for those days when I do not want to wear multiple products on my lips, but still want to look cute. It is my favourite tinted lip balm; this product moisturizes and gives off a natural, "your lips but better" colour at the same time. It is effortless and always in my bag. Mine is in the shade 'Sheer Coral', but there are a few other colours (such as a pink and a red) to chose from in the range.

Nivea Lip Butters - This one is a cult favourite. With variously delicious scents/flavours this product is ADDICTIVE. This is a jar lip product, which means it has a thicker consistency which I prefer for deep moisturizing lip masks. I apply a generous coat of this before bed on days when my lips need a little pick me up. This product is also a dupe for the Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm as I had the same result with both of the products, only the Dior version is slightly less thick.

CARMEX
This is quite possibly my favourite lip care brand. I recommend their products to everyone because they have literally saved my lips from their draught status. These are medicated products which offer a soothing, minty, tingly sensation to the lips once applied.

Carmex Lip Balm - I often alternate between this and my Nivea Lip Butters, however using this one when my lips need a major pick me up. I apply a very generous layer on my lips before bed, and in the morning my lips are impossibly soft and moisturized. I also pass my toothbrush over my lips as an exfoliant so that my lips look smooth under whatever lip product I decide on wearing that day.

Carmex Lip Ointment - My on-the-go must have! I go through these tubes very fast as I wear them at almost every waking moment. They are amazing under drying lip products such as mattes since they provide moisture for long periods of time; but I do not recommend wearing a gloss on top of this product as it already has a glossy finish to it.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm - This tinted lip balm comes as a close second to my Nivea one, I had to mention this as it has such a beautiful, natural colour. It does not have an impressive level of moisture, but it is not drying either. I opt for this on regular days when my lips can get discoloured due to dryness to give them an even appearance while giving an adequate amount of moisture.

E.L.F Lip Exfoliator - This little guy is super handy. Most lip scrubs come in jars but this E.L.F product offers a lip exfoliator in the shape of a lipstick, which offers a mess-free and precise application. I usually apply a little lip balm before usage so that it glides easier and does not tug too hard at my lips, then I rub in tiny circles with my finger until I'm satisfied with the result and wash off the excess product. This is a must before I wear a matte lipstick, plus it also has a delightfully sugary, mocha scent to it.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope it helps! Comment any questions/recommendations and check back weekly for new posts! :)
